About the Artist
An artist journey can take many turns as it did with me. I have been drawing and painting since the third grade. I have loved to draw and paint and I find it very relaxing at times. In the beginning I would copy pictures and change them a bit so they weren’t actually the same. I haven’t had any art instruction except for high school when I took a double period of art, but there was no real training but more of a class to draw and paint and experiment on my own. I sometimes find it frustrating that I can’t get things the way I want them or not knowing how to approach a picture as far as getting the results I want, so I would draw and then stop for a few years because life changes and priority change and then I would pick it up again and then life would change again. So I just recently picked it back up again and I have a different outlook on how I approach it. I have come to realize I have a gift and I should be using it for others because that is what God would want me to do. This is something I like to do even if it doesn’t turn out the way I want, but maybe it’s not for me, but for someone else who needs it. God has a way of using our gifts for others like something beautiful for a child who is sick and needs a bright spot in all of their difficulties. Maybe it is someone who doesn’t know God and a picture out of the Bible comes to life for them in art. Maybe a fellow artist need inspiration and a picture helps promote creativity in that person and they want to help others as well, but whatever the reason is God can use it in a way he sees fit at that moment to bring himself glory and for people to see he cares about all of us. With him all things are possible and he can reach anyone he needs too.
